Together, the Nordic and Baltic national CCCs make up almost 25 percent of all the European Centres set up in the last year to strengthen the semiconductor industry and ecosystem in each country as well as in Europe. Learning from each other will benefit the progress for all.
With a Memorandum of Understanding in place, the collaboration between the Nordic and Baltic centres is formally established. In practice this means having regular meetings in focus groups to develop services together such as webinars on the various Pilot Lines and the recently launched Design Platform. Other areas are more in-depth training and technology offers.

Working closely together also provides opportunities for startups in all countries to have entry points to the Nordic and Baltic markets. At some larger events such as Slush, there may be joint initiatives. The Nordic CCCs were established some time before the Baltic ones, so the centres are in various stages of development and also have different profiles and strengths.
“No single small country can succeed entirely on their own but sharing best practices, various areas of expertise, outreach activities and funding opportunities across the region will make us more effective and successful”, says Maria Huffman, Director of Swedish Chips Competence Center, SCCC.
