Tomi Salo
Co-creation Manager at
Tomi Salo is the type of person who is happy to engage in various types of collaboration with anyone and everyone.
He works at Kvanttinova Oy, a service company with the purpose of spreading 'chip goodness' to all possible imaginable stakeholders.
His expertise is in the sensor world, from chip design to the development of manufacturing processes and the establishment of production lines, not to forget project management and business development.
For Tomi, football and metal music are very serious things!
Pasi Pylväs
FiCCC Director at
Pasi is in charge of Finnish Chips Competence Centre, FiCCC and he works for the company coordinating it: Tamlink.

His interests include technology (especially semiconductors), numbers and signal processing (in all its forms). However, these are not his leisure interests, which he'll gladly reveal if you inquire.

Pasi's expertise is in end-to-end semiconductor knowledge from design to manufacturing and verification. These skills are advantages formed in working for a small company. System-level design and the upscaling of complex concepts (mechanics-electronics-software) in the field of making and managing are lessons learned from larger companies. According to Pasi, getting educated in this field of industry (semiconductors) has been hard, but also fun. "Let's just say that the science lessons were not wasted!", he reassures.

As a nice bonus, Pasi is quite skilled (and completely self-taught!) in repairing Yamaha Aerox and Polaris ATVs. He dares you to ask him anything on this subject.

Juha Heikkilä
Project Director at
Juha works as a project manager in the FiCCC project at Business Oulu and leads the Business Ecosystem and Funding work package.
The customer groups cover almost all sizes of companies that use or design microcircuits. The majority of customers have been small or medium-sized, but Juha has also come across a couple of very impressive start-up ideas.

Juha is a trouper in the semiconductor industry as he has worked with semiconductors his whole work career, gaining experience in both Finnish and international companies. His work tasks have included definition and design, project management, and building and managing organizations of various sizes.
During all these years Juha has become familiar with semiconductor technologies, the characteristics of the industry and the challenges of developing expertise. His extensive international network also helps in this task.

In addition to cottage living, Juha enjoys endurance sports, such as marathon running and long-distance skiing. In the fall, he also spends his free time hunting.
